1. Place the Ray Gun Demo folder anywhere on your hard disk. It
contains Ray-Gun plug-ins for Premiere compatible host applications and
for HyperEngine.
2. Copy the Ray Gun presets file into your system's Preferences folder.
3. To use Ray Gun with a Premiere compatible host application, drag the
"Ray-Gun 1.0-pr Demo" file into your host application's plug-ins folder.
Ray Gun will appear in your application's "effects" or "plug-ins" menu.
Use it as you would any Premiere compatible plug-in. Refer to your host
application's user manual for additional information on using plug-ins.
4.To use Ray Gun with HyperEngine make sure the "Ray Gun 1.0-HE Demo"
file remains in the HyperEngine Plug-ins Folder. Also, make sure the
HyperEngine Plug-Ins and the HyperEngine IO Drivers folders are at the
same location as your HyperEngine application. Launch the HyperEngine
application; create a New File Document; choose Ray Gun from the
plug-ins menu. Zap the Noise!
5. Refer to the Ray Gun & HyperEngine Online Manuals for further
information on using Ray Gun with HyperEngine.
Note: Even if you have a Premiere compatible host application, we
encourage you to demo Ray Gun with Arboretum's HyperEngine. Premiere
plug-ins are limited to RAM based previews. With HyperEngine, you can
enjoy unlimited disk based previewing as well as play-through
monitoring, which allows you to preview material without saving it to
disk.

• Peak users: We've encountered problems with Ray Gun processing files in Peak 1.6 and earlier. Upgrade your Peak to the new 1.61 version for full Ionizer and Ray Gun compatibility.
• If you set the Pop sensitivity too high, you'll get a fluttering sound. This just means the effect is trying too hard. If you hear fluttering, back off the sensitivity a little, for better results.
• We've heard some reports of Ray Gun instability in Studio Vision. At the time of this writing we haven't been able to test in-house, but by the time you read this we should have more information. Check in at www.arboretum.com for the latest news and updates.
Please contact us if you have any questions. Enjoy Ray Gun!
